• Abstain from taking steroids or using any Retinol-based products to including those with Vitamin C and A for at least 3 days prior to procedure.
• Avoid alcohol 3 days prior to the procedure.
• Begin prophylactic antiviral and/or antibiotic treatment for viral conditions such as Herpes Simplex Virus.

Yes. There are a few things we ask patients to do after getting lip filler in Charlotte.

• Alert your provider if extreme pain or signs of vascular occlusion occur (will be discussed during consultation).
• You may take NSAIDs post treatment for any pain.
• Take Arnica (orally or topically) according to package instructions to reduce swelling and decrease pain.
• Use ice packs 15 to 30 minutes at a time several times per day to reduce discomfort.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure for 2 to 3 days post.
• Avoid intense heat including hot tubs, saunas, sunbathing or tanning for up to 48 hours after fillers.
• Do not ingest blood thinners for 2 days after.

• Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
• Do not wear makeup for 12 to 24 hours.
