All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth By Dr. Ashlin on December 07, 2021

Teeth Talk Tuesday is our blog outlet about interesting dental topics. We’re sharing information about the latest and greatest developments in dentistry as it applies to your life!

“All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth. My two front teeth. My two front teeth. Gee if I could only have my two front teeth, then I could wish you Merry Christmas!”

Happy holidays from your Kleinheinz Dentistry team! Just like the song, we wish you tidings of good oral health and a happy smile! But what are your options if you are missing a tooth or a few teeth? And what are the advantages and disadvantages?

-Implant Crowns feel the most natural and replace your missing tooth without having to alter the teeth around it. Total treatment time is longer than other options. Implant crowns have the greatest success rate out of the options.

-Fixed Partial Dentures (also known as “bridges”) are made of crowns connected by a fake tooth. In this case, a dentist has to place crowns on two teeth in order to support the fake tooth. This option can be more difficult to keep clean. Bridges can be completed quickly and look very nice.

-Partial Dentures are removable and hook onto your remaining teeth. The disadvantage is that the appliance doesn’t feel very natural. However, they can be efficient when trying to replace several teeth with one appliance.

Are you missing a tooth? This holiday season, we’d like to give you the gift of a FREE CONSULTATION for replacing a missing tooth/teeth. Give yourself the gift of a healthy, functional, beautiful smile this year! Call 704-542-6003 with any questions and to schedule your appointment before the end of the year!
