Clear Aligners By Dr. Ashlin on December 01, 2020

While we’ve been back to work at our office since May with additional safety precautions in place (see the steps we’re taking to keep you safe during your visit: ( ), most of you are still working from home and relying on virtual meetings. Most of us had never heard of Zoom a year ago and now it’s been added to our daily vernacular!! We’d like to share a story that we’ve heard many times in the last few months… Does this situation sound familiar to you?

Anna* is an executive at a midsize company in Charlotte. She’d never given much thought to the appearance of her smile, she just kept her teeth healthy with regular cleanings. She told us that after a few weeks of Zoom video calls, she noticed the appearance of her teeth when she talked more and more. It was not until COVID forced her to watch herself on video calls, that she realized the impact that her teeth had on her appearance. So Anna started clear aligner therapy in September! She’ll spend a few months wearing clear aligners and will end up with a smile that will improve her confidence for years to come!

Anna had a question before we began though: “Will the aligners make me sound funny when I talk? I often speak publicly for my work.” Great question Anna! While everyone has a different experience, most patients find the aligners thin and natural enough that they don’t consider their speech affected.

Does this story sound familiar to you? We’ve heard it multiple times in the last few months! Does the appearance of your teeth on video calls surprise you? Do you have teeth that overlap which makes them difficult to clean? If so, we’d be happy to see you for a consultation and discuss your best options for a healthy, esthetic smile!

We’re running a SPECIAL until the new year- $500 OFF CLEAR ALIGNER THERAPY!! Give us a call at 704-542-6003 or email for more information!
(*To protect the privacy of our patient, her name has been changed for this post.)
